Unbelievable chutzpah, they lost and then appealed to continue to keep rooting through Rosen’s records in secret. But Holder “knew nothing” about going after reporters… Via Ryan Lizza at The New Yorker: The Obama Administration fought to keep a search warrant for James Rosen’s private e-mail account secret, arguing to a federal judge that the government
UPDATE: The New Yorker’s Ryan Lizza reports that the Obama DoJ wanted to be able to spy on Fox News reporter James Rosen for an essentially unlimited period of time and not disclose their activities to him. After two judges rejected Holder’s claims, he finally got a judge to go along with him. Judge Royce Lamberth owes Rosen a major apology. —- So Holder wants to tell us that he recused himself from the AP phone records scandal, but now we learn (from NBC News of all places) that he personally went on the attack against Fox News Reporter James Rosen. Story here .
Things just went from bad to worse for Attorney General Eric Holder. Last week, we noted that Holder was setting Deputy Attorney General James Cole up as the fall guy for the AP scandal. Obama said he had “ complete confidence ” in Holder and it looked like, once again, the attorney general would survive the storm. Last night, NBC reported that Holder signed off on the search warrant for James Rosen’s e-mails: Attorney General Eric Holder signed off on a controversial search warrant that identified Fox News reporter James Rosen as a “possible co-conspirator” in violations of the Espionage Act and authorized seizure of his private emails, a law enforcement official told NBC News on Thursday. It gets even worse. As Hot Air noted, Holder may have perjured himself. In testimony before the House Ways and Means Committee last week, he said: In regard to potential prosecution of the press for the disclosure of material.
Connolly puts the other Dem hacks to shame. WASHINGTON — Democratic Rep. Gerry Connolly refuses to use the word “scandal.” After two weeks of brutal news cycles — with frenzied Republicans and a hyped up press corps aggressively covering every inch of three controversies surrounding the Obama administration — Connolly insists this too, shall pass.
Another sign of the blatant cronyism involving the Export-Import Bank emerged this week. First Solar, a solar panel manufacturer, is by most standards a failing company. It suffered a net loss of $39 million in 2011, and an even greater loss of nearly $100 million in 2012. The company threw away $215 million at one point on solar panels that ended up failing at high temperatures. (A solar panel that can’t withstand heat?) But First Solar has political connections within the Obama Administration. And it also has a trump card: First Solar is a member of the “Business Alliance,” a secret clique of corporate donors to the Center for American Progress (CAP). CAP, in turn, lobbied Capitol Hill for First Solar, without disclosing the financial support it receives from the flailing solar energy company:
