I say go for it. Jones hasn’t committed a crime, protesting the mosque is his First Ammendment right and yet this judge is still ordering him to stay away for three years, this is an absolute travesty of justice. (The Hill) — Controversial Florida Pastor Terry Jones said he will follow through on his plan to protest outside an Islamic center in Michigan next week despite a judge’s order to stay away from the mosque for three years, according to a report from the Detroit Free Press . Jones had planned to protest against jihad and sharia outside the Islamic Center of America in Dearborn on Friday, the largest mosque in a metro-Detroit region that is home to one of the largest populations of Arab-Americans. However, Judge Mark Somers ordered Jones and Pastor Wayne Sapp to jail after a jury determined they would likely breach the peace. Somers set a $1 cash bond for Jones and Sapp and ordered them not go to the mosque or adjacent property for three years. “The arrests, the whole proceedings, were a definite violation of our Constitutional rights,” Jones said. “As a matter of fact, we were arrested and had not even committed a crime. It is a complete violation of our First Amendment right of freedom of speech. It was clearly influenced by the mosque.”

(Ynet) – Newspaper ads for the “Trinny & Susannah Do Israel” show have sparked a row among Muslims, as they show the two British fashion advisors dressed in immodest clothing against the backdrop of the al-Aqsa Mosque and Western Wall. Channel 10 apologized for the incident on Wednesday evening and promised to change the ads immediately. The Islamic Movement’s al-Aqsa institution association slammed Channel 10 for publishing a picture of the two women wearing strapless dresses against the backdrop of the mosque. The association released a statement saying that “the publication of such abomination against the backdrop of an image of the al-Aqsa Mosque, in order to promote a television program on fashion and clothes, is a blatant violation and a desecration of Islam’s holy mosque. This is an insult to more than one and a half billion Muslims in the world.”

(NY Post) – The Burlington Coat Factory was in such a hurry to distance itself from a former storefront that’s now a highly controversial proposed mosque near Ground Zero that it severely damaged the building when it ripped its old signs off, the property owners charge. In papers filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, 45 Park Place Partners and 51 Park Place LH LLC say the chain’s “animus and hostility to the inclusion of the mosque in the development plans of the building” resulted in the company “illegally and forcefully” removing its massive signs, destroying the owners’ property and causing them “economic injury.” The suit seeks a total of $4.1 million in damages.
