I Will Not Talk About Rape
Uncle Joe is at it again. He is, once again, using the tried and true Democrat tactic of trying to scare people into letting the government spend more money. It is time to pass yet another failed stimulus bill, and if you don’t pass it, oh, you don’t even want to know the horrors the country will face. The argument, this time, is: “If you don’t let the Federal government tax and spend even MORE of your hard earned money, local police forces won’t have enough cops to be able to stop the skyrocketing number rapes that will occur. Only the Federal government can solve problems, you see.” Mr. Biden, the Federal government doesn’t need to spend more of our money to stop rapes, the second amendment already allows the citizens of this country to stop rapes from happening to them. If Federal spending can stop rapes, then I wonder how many rapes would’ve been stopped with the wasted Solyndra money. Cross-Posted: TobyToons.com (Conservative Political Cartoons)

I Will Not Talk About Rape
From civility to ‘barbarians’ and ‘SOBs’ and the Reverend Wright ‘I didn’t hear it’ defense
President Obama, on yet another taxpayer-funded reelection campaign junket — this one billed as a preview of his upcoming big jobs speech, called for a bipartisan response to his latest plan amidst extreme partisan rhetoric. Before Obama took to the podium, Teamsters President Jimmy Hoffa set the tone with profane, violent and partisan rhetoric: We got to keep an eye on the battle that we face: The war on workers. And you see it everywhere, it is the Tea Party. And you know, there is only one way to beat and win that war. The one thing about working people is we like a good fight. And you know what? They’ve got a war, they got a war with us and there’s only going to be one winner. It’s going to be the workers of Michigan, and America. We’re going to win that war. President Obama, this is your army, and we are ready to march. Everybody here’s got a vote. If we go back, and we keep the eye on the prize, let’s take these son of a b[*****]s out and give America back to America where we belong. As if Hoffa’s uncivil discourse wasn’t enough, at a separate taxpayer-funded reelection campaign event, Vice President Biden referred to Republicans as “ Barbarians at the gate .” The use of such extreme violent partisan rhetoric causes one to wonder what happened to President Obama’s highly touted call for a civil political debate . When President Obama took the Teleprompter, he did not renew his call for civility, instead he praised Teamsters President Hoffa saying he was proud of him . According to ABC News , the White House had no comment yesterday about Hoffa’s uncivil rhetoric. Does President Obama truly believe this sort of violent and profane rhetoric will encourage a bipartisan response to his jobs speech? Perhaps he just doesnt care. This Afternoon, Obama’s Press Secretary Jay Carney made it clear that Obama will not apologize for Hoffa’s violent and profane rhetoric: Those weren’t comments by the president. The president … wasn’t on stage. He didn’t speak for another 20 minutes. He didn’t hear it. The “ he didn’t hear it ” defense doesn’t cut it. It’s the same defense presidential candidate Obama used to distance himself from his hateful pastor and spiritual advisor of 20 years. It didn’t work then and it won’t work now. Just as he did with Reverend Wright, Obama will eventually decide it is politically expedient to throw Hoffa under the bus.

Eric Cantor Pulls Out. So does Jon Kyl. It Distracts From the Big Story.
Eric Cantor (R-VA) decided to pull out of talks with Joe Biden on what to do about the debt. He placed the problem in President Obama’s and Speaker’s Boehner’s laps saying there were issues relating to taxes that only they could resolve. Senator Jon Kyl (R-AZ), a man well known on Capitol Hill to negotiate defeat from the jaws of victory, decided he would pull out as well. Getting Kyl out of these talks is actually a good thing because Kyl’s negotiating skills leave much to be desired. In any event, the media is breathlessly reporting this and making a big to do about taxes and tax increases being the big sticking point. Maybe it’s just me, but it seems to me that the big news should be that Democrats and Republicans think $2 trillion in cuts over the next ten years is a serious deal. Meanwhile the debt will keep going up. This is the same problem we see with the Gang of 5 or 6 in the Senate. Recently, Saxby Chambliss (R-GA) and Mark Warner (D-VA) proudly proclaimed they were on the cusp of a deal that would raise tax revenue by $1.00 for every $3.00 in spending cuts. But the nugget everyone seems to ignore is this one: The Gang of Six, now down to five, is trying to craft a deficit-slashing plan along the lines of the 10-year, $4 trillion package that Obama’s deficit commission put together last year. Basically, that plan called for $1 in higher taxes in exchange for every $3 in cuts to government spending and benefit programs. The nation’s $14.3 trillion debt would continue to grow , but at a much slower pace. So, regardless of which plan, which negotiation, and which cuts and increases you want to talk about, it seems no one in Washington is serious about actually shrinking the national debt.

I am *done* with President Obama.
UPDATE: Paul Ryan’s done , too . Jake Tapper titled the post where he compares President’s Obama rhetoric in 2010 (semantic translation: “I don’t have the testicles to be rude to Republicans at their own retreat.”) to his rhetoric today (I can’t improve on Tapper’s title) “ Throw Grandma From the Train .” Apparently, being forced to abandon his happy-shiny 2011 budget has made the President… well, Obama was already “petulant,” and “more petulant” doesn’t have the same ring to it. “Childish” or “adolescent” are both overused. “Labile” sounds dirty. Let’s go with “imbalanced;” it has a certain ring to it. Anyway: as Hot Air noted , this entire sorry exercise in induced narcolepsy that was the debt speech this afternoon was yet another dreary attempt by the President to use what is an entirely overinflated reputation for rhetoric to get past an unpleasant situation. Unfortunately for President Obama, this is not 2008, and the media is not full of people eagerly trying to excise their inner racist demons by collaborating in the election of a clueless Harvard liberal who is as about as authentically African-American as I am. Or if they are, at least now the fever’s broken a bit. My recommendation, going forward? Democrats: cut the President out of the loop . His presence in this discussion insults both parties at this point. Send him off to a permanent round of golf games and trips to various parts of the country: Obama hates his job anyway, so letting him know that from now on all he has to do is sign papers on cue will probably relieve him somewhat. In the meantime… well, God help us, there’s always Joe Biden* for domestic policy. I am disgusted that we are now in a situation where going with Joe Biden looks good as a strategy in comparison, but this is where we are now… Moe Lane ( crosspost ) *Yes. I know he fell asleep . He’d still be an improvement. And may God save the Republic.
