The Blame Game and Prayers Begin

Editorial Note: This morning, prior to this news, we were running a caption contest on this cartoon. We have suspended that contest and removed the cartoon from the front page. — Erick —————————– A terrible tragedy today. Rep. Giffords of Arizona was gunned down and, though early reports were that she is dead, the hospital is confirming, as of this writing, that she is alive and in surgery. 11 others were apparently shot and six others are dead. I spent an hour with Rep. Giffords a few months ago. She and I were sitting in Jim Bohannon’s studio with Robert Reich was on the air. She’d driven him over to the studio. We chatted for an hour. We disagreed on much. She was extremely, exceedingly nice. My prayers are for her and her family. Unfortunately, the left is using this tragedy to score political points. Rep. Giffords was on Gov. Palin’s target list for defeat this past November. The left claims Gov. Palin has blood on her hands. So does the tea party movement. Less than a year ago a gunman stormed into the Discovery Channel’s headquarters, taking hostages and threatening to kill them all. The left immediately accused the man of being a tea party activist. Unfortunately for the left, the man turned out to be an envirowacko leftist raised on Algore’s global warming garbage. Immediately, the left changed their tune and proclaimed that no longer could we as partisans accuse each other of causing things like this. There are just crazy people in the world and tragedies happen. My, my how quickly they forget. The truth is there is evil in this world. Evil exists where God does not and as we drive God further and further away, evil creeps in more and more. Today was not a random act of violence. It was a profound evil. Let’s not pretend it wasn’t. Let’s not pretend evil does not exist. But let’s not let the left, yet again, spin this against the tea party movement, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, or Sarah Palin inciting violence. That’s both a profound lie and just another, though lesser, bit of evil.

The persecution is never ending… Washington, D.C. (December 20, 2010) – International Christian Concern (ICC) has learned that on December 16, members of Al-Shabaab, an Islamic militant group, destroyed a Christian library in the Luuq district of Somalia. The militants destroyed the library and brought Bibles, Christian books, and audio/video materials to the city center and burned them after the Muslim noon prayer . The guardian of the library fled the area hours after the library was found by the Islamists. His whereabouts are unknown. Al-Shabaab’s district commissioner in Luuq, Sheik Farhaan Abdi Elmoghe, described the discovery of the library as “a blow to the misguided Somali Christians.” The library was located in a derelict farm on the Juba River. It is not uncommon for the persecuted Somali Christians to literally bury their Bibles and other Christian materials because of intense persecution from Islamists. Speaking from Mogadishu to ICC, a leader of an underground church said, “The library served as an underground Somali Bible college, [and it's] one of the biggest and the most comprehensive Somali Christian libraries in southern Somalia.” He further added that the destruction of the library would not stop the Somali Christians from studying the scriptures.

James Lee is the man who stormed the Discovery Channel’s offices in Maryland and threatened to kill everybody there because the channel wasn’t doing enough to help the environment. One of the crticisms was apparently that Discovery doesn’t advocate abortion enough. Well, Discovery is trying to make up for that. Their environmental website Treehugger is promoting what it calls the “coolest environmental advertising.” One of the ads chosen as “coolest” is from ACT-Responsible, which depicts a school age girl in school girl outfit hanging from a noose. Dead. They call it a “creative challenge”. So, to recap, we have now both Brits and American mainstream environmental groups depicting school children being murdered in the name of global warming. Is this how Discovery intends to redeem itself in the dead eyes of James Lee? (H/t Adam Baldwin )

America’s Cemetery

On September 11, 2010, in Barack Obama, by markboabaca

Proof our gravesite extends well beyond the site of the fallen towers: The map was made by the FDNY’s “Phoenix Team,” which tracked the discovery of the remains. The issue of where remains were found has come to the forefront during the national debate over the proposed mosque. Relatives of 9/11 victims have argued that their loved ones’ remains were scattered for blocks in the dust and debris. Advocates for the project, and the mosque’s leaders and developers, have defended their decision to locate it two blocks north of the World Trade Center site by insisting that it is not that close to Ground Zero. Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, who describes himself as the “visionary” behind the mosque, told CNN this week, “This is not Ground Zero proper. No one’s body is in that location.” Some 20,000 body parts were found, many from the same person, and they’re still finding people. In June, 2010, 72 more victims were discovered during the latest “sifting” at Fresh Kills Island, adding to the  1,845 victims that have been identified so far. We will never forget.
