Become A Force Multiplier: Five simple tasks for American Activists
Some background to the presentation below: After observing the trends on the Left for many years, in early February 2009, during a meeting with a friend familiar with the “hydra” that the Left had built, we lamented on how there was nothing on the Right to combat the behemoth that had been built by unions, the institutional Left, with the help of the mainstream media, to tear down the Right and propel Barack Obama and his fellow Democrats to their huge 2008 victories. Knowing what was on the agenda, “we’re finished as a nation,” was the overriding feeling. A short time later, the first Tea Party rally was held. During the summer of 2009, I attended my first Tea Party meeting as an observer. It was, as they say, beautiful chaos . People who, for the most part, had been apathetic to politics were suddenly engaged and outraged. Nevertheless, I left that meeting with the thought, ‘ these people really have no idea what they’re up against .’ A little more than a year later, as we were launching the Concord Project for the mid-term GOTV , there was opportunity to speak at several other Tea Party events. As part of the presentation, several slides were devoted to “what we’re up against” (explaining the leviathan that the Left had built). Following that meeting, someone stated that the attendees loved the information, but it “scared the crap out of them.” This was surprising since the Tea Party had been in existence for more than 18 months at that point. How can you fight something you don’t understand? More importantly, how can you expect to win? More recently, having had several occasions to present information about unions and the Left, attendees began stating, “So, what do we do about it?” Frankly, after the millions in donations* that have gone to Tea Party groups, it still is surprising that this question gets asked. What you are about to read is a PowerPoint presentation that is simply a condensed overview of information, some of the groups on the Left, and the nature of the fight Constitution-loving Americans are up against, as well as tasks that must be done in order to win in 2012. It is, by no means comprehensive. Hopefully, whether your a member of a Tea Party or a church (or other) group, you can use it as a means of sharing information within your group. Many of the tactics described in this presentation are already in use—both from inside the Left (sourced, where possible) or have been gathered from years of observation (and first-hand experience). The five tasks that must be done are simple, but require a commitment that must be there from each and every American who wants to stop the Marxist slide toward bigger government, higher and higher taxes to pay for never-ending deficits and debt, and the entitlement culture that the Left has sewn, nurtured and grown. There’s not a lot of time left, so let’s get busy (or busier , as the case may be). Become A Force Multiplier: Five simple tasks for American Activists * Note: Following an exchange with a Left-wing, union writer on Twitter, it is necessary to clarify the following for the Left-wing trolls reading this post: Contrary to union and Left-wing myths (lies, actually) and unlike other entities, LaborUnionReport.com is not funded by any corporate interests, the Koch brothers, or any industry trade group, association, etc. In fact, to date (sadly), LaborUnionReport.com has received less than $100 in donations. LaborUnionReport.com is powered by our own dime, on our own time. Go figure. ______________ “Socialism has no place in the hearts of those who would secure the fight for freedom and preserve democracy.” Samuel Gompers, 1918 Cross-posted on LaborUnionReport.com .

Chevy Volt’s Loss is GM’s Gain? ———————————————————————- 1. The Debt Rises, The Economy Sinks Despite being dispirited by the one-sided nature of the debt ceiling deal, most of us were looking forward to reaping the rewards from its only ancillary benefit; the impending stock market rally. Much to our chagrin, the Dow dropped precipitously, losing over 800 points since the opening bell on Monday. After the initial euphoria from the debt ceiling hangover began to subside, people have been forced to confront an inconvenient reality. The problem with the economy is not the debt ceiling; it is the debt – and all that it represents; overbearing and job-killing government. Late Sunday night, Republican leaders forged a bipartisan deal with the president to raise the debt ceiling another $2.4 trillion without any preconditions for the second tranche. Despite pretentious claims that we were entering a new era of austerity, the debt deal has charted us on a trajectory to incur $7.8 trillion more in debt, even considering the unrealistic baseline projections of economic growth and revenue. Well, the Treasury wasted no time utilizing its new credit card and devouring the spoils like the starved beast that it has been for the past few months. On Tuesday, Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner issued $239 billion in new debt, almost 60% of the entire $400 billion increase in borrowing authority that Congress granted for the first round of the debt limit hike. To put that in perspective with the “austerity side of the debt deal,” it will take 4.5 years to achieve a commensurate degree of savings from the discretionary caps imposed in the bill. I guess that is one way of measuring dollar-for-dollar cuts. Our total cumulative debt (including the intragovernmental share) now stands at $14.58 trillion, approaching 100% of out GDP for the first time. We have joined the failed socialist experiments of Europe in this ominous distinction. Please click here for the rest of the post. 2. Lisa Jackson is Using the EPA to Destroy the Coal Industry I reported recently on EPA rules that ran the risk of causing shut downs of plants in Texas and elsewhere. But that was before the massive heatwave began putting the real strain on them. So much so that they are almost at full capacity. And unfortunately, the EPA is only tightening it’s grip. Please click here for the rest of the post. 3. Uh Oh! The Progressives Have Figured Out How The Tea Parties Took Over the GOP… Wow! It’s really flattering that radio talk-show host Thom Hartmann is attributing the Concord Project with the Tea Party taking over the GOP. The fact is, though, the GOP is still filled with those who would compromise the Constitution and bankrupt our country. Taking over the GOP has barely begun and, more importantly, the Tea Party (and other conservative activists) taking over the GOP involves many more people, groups, and organizations than the Concord Project. Nevertheless, if Thom Hartmann wants to give some credit to the Concord Project for the strategy to take over the GOP, as long as it gets you to really know how important precinct activism is, so be it. More importantly, if progressives understanding the strategy and doing it themselves, get you motivated to get involved, even better. Please click here for the rest of the post. 4. Chevy Volt’s Loss is GM’s Gain? I’ve written about General Motor’s CEO Dan Akerson before, but for those who don’t remember, he was appointed to the board of directors by President Obama to represent the administration. He’s also been a big proponent of the gas tax which he believes will increase the cost of car ownership just enough to get America off of foreign oil by forcing us to choose crappy cars that use less fuel. As though the fates are trying to prove to Akerson that a gas tax is the only way Americans will ever buy into their green dreams, the Chevy Volt has crossed over into the realm of abysmal failure (one step above abject failure). Mr. Smith, er, Johnson, goes to Washington
First term Republican Sen. Ron Johnson from Wisconsin has just done what the Republican “leaders” of the Senate have thus far failed to do during Opuppet’s presidency: actually threaten to use the Senate rules to fight for our individual liberties and get the Senate to actually do its job: Will Sen. Johnson actually follow through? I hope and pray he does. SEIU: They can dish it out, but they can’t take it…
Do you remember a few months ago, when the SEIU and its mob of zombies stomped all over private property, terrorizing a 14-year old boy who was home alone at the time?…And the police facilitated it stood by and did nothing? Well, get a load of this: A week after Arizona governor Jan Brewer knocked the once-mighty United Food & Commercial Workers out of the Boycott Arizona campaign, one, single Angry Right Wing Housewife decided to do a little protesting on her own. Armed with nothing more than a cameraman, a megaphone, and more courage than an army of purple people eaters, this woman decided to pay Beelzebub the SEIU office in Arizona a vist and shame the SEIU by reminding them that their Arizona boycott was hurting Arizona and SEIU members’ jobs. The funny thing is, the SEIU got so beside themselves with having the shoe on the other foot that they called the police. Imagine what they’d do with a hundred angry housewives at their front door. He Doesn’t Hate Your Grandma, Really.
Gary McDowell is the doomed Democrat running against rising Republican star Dr. Dan Benishek in MI-01. Gary McDowell doesn’t really hate your grandma. It’s nothing personal, mind you. He just thinks she should have to compete for budget like any other part of the bureaucracy. Come on, Grams! Make your case! Show your budgetary requirements in the current fiscal outlook going forward. And speaking of going forward, we’re not sure you’re going to be able to complete the current budget cycle in year Zero, much less years One through Five. So along with your funding request for that hip replacement and the seeing eye dog, please present evidence that you’ll be finishing out the year with us here, alive. Because it’s all one pie, you know. ( h/t Steven Foley) And while you’re at it, Grams, just put together some numbers on why you would be a good fit for that cancer drug, when we already know you’re a good fit for a pain pill. ‘ Dr. Dan Benishek, on the other hand, knows that medical decisions should be made at the most local level possible, and that is between a doctor and patient. He supports reforming our current great medical system to make it better. “As a practicing physician for almost 30 years, I know what it takes to deliver quality health care. Having the federal government manage, supervise, and oversee this critical part of our society is a formula for less access, less care, and more rationing.” — Dr. Dan Benishek But there is one area in which Gary McDowell excels: the personal smear. It seems that 20 years ago Benishek restructured his finances to reduce his child support costs. This kind of thing happens, in one form or another, in every child support case. Non-custodial parents want to decide for themselves how best to support their children, and not have some judge decide. The family court refused the restructure, and Dr. Dan dropped the matter. But Gary McDowell didn’t. He dredged up the case and tried to spin it as avoiding child support. Unfortunately for McDowell, Benishek’s ex-wife and children will have nothing of it : Ex-Wife DePuydt comes to Benishek’s defense and calls her current relationship with him “amicable.” Their daughter, Kirby, says her dad always provided for them and notes, “He also named all of us kids as trustees and beneficiaries of his company, to ensure our security should anything ever happen to him. The fact that my dad’s political opponents are trying to use us to damage the reputation of a very good man is disgusting. Any news outlet that entertains this story is not concerned with the reality of the situation.” Time is running short, U.P. Tell your neighbors, people at church, employees, and friends to vote for Republican Dan Benishek on November 2. For more information on how to Get Out The Vote, see the Concord Project .
